The University of Auckland
A ground-breaking, world first, online experience for the learning of knowledge of place, knowledge systems and indigenous culture.
The University of Auckland needed an identity, design framework, compelling introduction and an overview of the significance and relevance of mana whenua for students.
We created a unique brand identity for the Waipapa Taumata Rau Māori-focussed curriculum content as well as interactive and engaging online journeys for students as a welcome to the course, the University and key information about tangata whenua (Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei) through the 360 degree Powhiri welcome and the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei artefact experiences.
An immersive, student-centric experience
This groundbreaking initiative delivers a unique and immersive learning experience, presenting Māori-focused curriculum content in an engaging way to students from all backgrounds and all walks of life.

They have worked closely with us to make high quality digital learning resources for 8,000 first year students at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. Method have been visionary, innovative, engaging, and responsive. They very successfully worked with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to help produce their story for our students. Method was adept at translating academic content into cutting-edge online resources. The quality of their work was exemplary and we are all proud of the result."
